miRoamer Internet Radio
Project Introduction
miRoamer is a next generation internet radio product that allows users to access over 35,000 radio stations from broad geographies, including international stations.
The miRoamer App can be used as a ‘bring your own device’ product by consumers who can link it to their car’s sound system and, in conjunction with a monthly subscription fee, listen to the channel of their choice.
Project Highlights
- Created iOS and Android applications featuring a contemporary, user-friendly interface, ensuring a seamless experience for users on both major mobile platforms.
- Engineered a custom audio player capable of handling MP3, AAC, and WMA formats, leveraging FFMPEG and libMMS for robust playback capabilities.
- Integrated with MirrorLink and Ford AppLink™, granting users access to the app directly from their car dashboard, enhancing in-vehicle entertainment and convenience.
- Developed an HTML5 version of the application specifically tailored for General Motors’ car dashboard, extending the reach to a broader audience.
- Seamlessly incorporated Deezer and SHOUTcast® into the app, offering a diverse range of music options to users.
- Users have the ability to save their favorite radio stations, tailoring their listening experience to their preferences.
- For premium users, the app provides the functionality to record live radio shows, allowing for on-the-go content capture.
- Designed and implemented an admin portal to efficiently manage and maintain the radio stations database, ensuring smooth operation and content updates.
